I went to Philadelphia to browse the Paul Strand: A Master of Photography exhibition. It was a cold winter day. I took these pictures as I was leaving, the sun already beginning to set and casting colour into the sky. This is the Ben Franklin Parkway and the Philadelphia skyline as seen from the top of the Museum steps.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art steps at the East entrance are also known as the “Rocky Steps”. Without fail, somebody – young or old, male or female, is running up the steps recreating the scene from Rocky, getting to the top and mimicking his triumphant celebration. They even have footprints!
There’s a Rocky statue too at the base of the steps. Usually, there is a line of people waiting to pose with it. Not on this cold afternoon!
