It’s been such a gorgeous autumn. November is round the corner and I’m still harvesting peppers and tomatoes.
My garden was a success. Lots of work but quadruple the effort in results. I just can’t wait for next year.
Many lessons learnt. First of all, no more cabbage or cauliflower. I may or may not try the broccoli again. But I will definitely replant kale and chard both of which are still going strong, as well as salad greens.
I keep meaning to plant garlic bulbs this fall for harvest next year, but it’s looking like I will miss this year’s window as well.
I hope to keep most of my herbs alive indoors through the winter. We will see. But the mint is staying outside in their pots and I’m crossing my fingers that they will each come back next year.
I’m going to try and keep a few of the pepper plants alive in my basement to get a head-start next year. They very well may die though. Again, we shall see.
I definitely will not plant as many tomatoes and pepper plants though as this year. I was inundated having to give vegetables away weekly. And I hope to add a few other vegetables. Okra anyone?
Ok, winter, have your time. Do your thing. And let’s bring back spring and summer pronto!
